The invention relates to a machine meant to carry out current works of repair, maintenance and construction in railways, i.e. for clamping and unclamping lag screws and the nuts of bolts for clamping the rail to the sleepers. According to the invention, the machine consists of a frame (), whereon there is mounted a thermal engine () whose axle is integral with an adapting flange (), mechanically clamped to a first crankcase (), wherein a flywheel () is placed to allow a hub () of the engine () to work together with a gear box () with two stages, placed inside a second crankcase (), in the gear box () there being a worm screw (), whereon there are mounted some pinions () with lateral coupling and a mobile pawl (), and on an axle () there being mounted some conical pinions () which work together, due to the friction between a female cone () and a male cone (), the movement being transmitted to the mobile pawl (), to the worm screw (), to a spiral wheel () and then to an output axle () through a clutch collar (), the rotation movement being transmitted towards an input axle () of a 90° conical reducer (), which allows the change of the plane of a rotation movement of a wrench-holder axle () and, implicitly, of the wrenches () for lag screwing and bolting, the transmission of the rotation movement and the reversal of the rotation movement for some wrenches (), being performed by means of some levers () and a connecting rod (), the machine being controlled by a control mechanism () and a left arm (), while a machine clutch is controlled by a right arm (), the machine moving along one railway track with a running device (), which is provided with a vertical pivot () and an isolated roll (), which rests on the other railway track, in order to provide stability.
