CALIPER TONGUE AND GROOVE CONNECTION AND SHEET PILING

The invention provides a caliper in cross section tongue and groove connection and sheet piling using such connection. The invention can be applied in civil and hydrotechnical construction. According to the present invention the tongue and groove connection comprises tongue and groove ledges and grips made of rolled profiles. Each grip is made caliper in cross section and welded from two rolled profiles. Each rolled profile has a cross section in the form of a letter F, in which the lower transverse shelf is longer than the upper transverse shelf and is rounded along the radius. The specified rolled profiles face each other in a mirrorlike manner with shelves and are welded with lower shelves in a butt joint with provision of a preset gap between upper shelves, and such gap is adjusted depending on soil properties by means of rotation of the specified profiles relative to the line of welded shelves jointing. The advantages of the invention are simplifying of technology and reducing cost of production of tongue and groove connections, providing high strength and tightness of the sheet piling using such connections.
