The purpose of the present invention is to provide an adenovirus (Ad) that can be effectively grown using desired cells such as target tumor cells. Provided is a method for promoting growth of Ad by which Ad is effectively grown using desired cells. Furthermore provided are packaging cells for Ad production capable of effectively growing Ad. The Ad capable of being effectively grown using desired cells such as target tumor cells is manufactured by inhibiting function of Ad-derived mivaRNA in the Ad genome, or by blocking miR-27a and/or miR-27b in the Ad genome. Inhibiting the function of Ad-derived mivaRNA or blocking miR-27a and/or miR-27b is achieved by blocking Dicer and/or Ago2.
