PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire which can advantageously enhance lateral force generated in the tire and surely exert excellent steering stability by effectively suppressing crushing shearing force generated at a position just below a load in a shoulder land part of a rib even when the shoulder land part of the rib is formed in an area across an outermost side edge of a widened belt reinforcing layer.SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire comprises a carcass 1, at least one belt reinforcing layer 2 and at least one belt layers 3 and 4 and a tread rubber 5. In a shoulder circumferential groove 6 continuously extending in a tread circumference direction, a shoulder land part 10 of a rib positioned across the outermost side edge E of the belt reinforcing layer 2 is partitioned at the tread rubber 5, and distance from a tread grounding surface 5a of the shoulder land part 10 of the rib to the belt reinforcing layer 2 is set longer at an outside end of the belt reinforcing layer 2 of the shoulder land part of the rib than at a tire equator CL side. |
