PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose methods, compositions and kits for improving targeting, in particular tumor targeting, of immunoconjugates, the method and composition relying on the sequestration of non-target cells that also express the antigen which the immunoconjugate targets, sequestration of those non-target cells in a variety of ways being disclosed, and the methods, compositions and kits allowing appropriate sequestration of non-target cells while maintaining a high degree of effectivness of the immunoconjugates against target cells.SOLUTION: A method for improving targeting, in particular tumor targeting, of immunoconjugates targeting cell bound antigen expressed on target cells, comprises: (a) providing a medium comprising the antigen, in which the antigen is cell bound on target cells or on non-target cells, or is present in soluble form; (b) sequestering at least one of cell bound antigen, soluble antigen, and antigen expressing cells; and (c) administering an immunoconjugate targeting cell bound antigen expressed on target cells comprising a targeting agent for the antigen that is functionally attached to an effector molecule, in which the sequestering in (b) improves target cell targeting of the immunoconjugate. |
