PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a metal foam of at least one metal M having a porous micrometric structure, a device, and a resultant metal foam.SOLUTION: The method of producing a metal foam includes a step of contact glow discharge electrolysis. The electrolysis is an electrolytic plasma reduction conducted by a device 10 including an electrolytic solution 16 in which an anode 18 and a cathode 20 are immersed and connected to a continuous electrical power supply 22. The electrolytic solution 16 includes in a solvent at least one metal M in a cationic form, and further includes gelatin. Also disclosed are a metal foam obtained by this method, a method of uses of the foam, and a device comprising such a foam.
