PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor, a flexible printed wiring board, and an electronic component capable of adjusting electrostatic capacitance and downsizing.SOLUTION: A capacitor of the present invention includes: an insulating base material; one or more pairs of electrodes laminated on at least one surface side of the base material in a stripe shape; and a first dielectric layer laminated on the one surface of a substrate including the base material layer and one or more pairs of electrodes, in which the one or more pairs of electrodes are embedded in the first dielectric layer. A second dielectric layer laminated on the other surface of the substrate may preferably be further provided. The first dielectric layer and the second dielectric layer may preferably be bonded at an edge portion of the substrate. A width of the substrate may preferably be changed in a stripe direction. The dielectric layer may preferably includes a thermoplastic resin as a main component. The capacitor can adjust the electrostatic capacitance by cutting the electrode at an arbitrary position.
