<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good arc starting performance even if the temperature of a base material and welding dead time vary.SOLUTION: Welding is started by applying a hot-start current Ih for a hot-start period Th. The temperature of a base material at the welding start time is measured, and the welding dead time from the former welding finishing to this time welding starting is measured. Comparing the hot-start current Ih calculated on the basis of the welding dead time with the hot-start current Ih calculated on the basis of the temperature measurement value of the base material, the smaller value is set as the hot-start current Ih in this time welding starting. Comparing the hot-start period Th calculated on the basis of the welding dead time with the hot-start period Th calculated on the basis of the temperature measurement value of the base material, the smaller value is set as the hot-start period Th in this time welding starting. Thus, good arc starting performance is always obtained even if the temperature of the base material and the welding dead time vary.</p> |
