Disclosed are an apparatus for determining the position of a camera and a method thereof, which are capable of easily identifying a mounting position of the camera. The apparatus for determining the position of a camera includes an image sensor configured to capture a surrounding video, a memory configured to store the captured video as an image, an edge pattern recognition module configured to compare and analyze an edge pattern based on the image, and a position determination module configured to determine a mounted position of the camera based on the edge pattern. |
