<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The rotor (1) has a shaft (3) for supporting a turbine wheel (2) or a compressor wheel, and a porous metallic or ceramic adapter (4) provided between the turbine wheel and the shaft for attaching the turbine wheel and the shaft. The adapter is connected to the turbine wheel and/or the shaft by an infiltration process, where the adapter is annular shaped or disk shaped and integrated into a rear side of the turbine wheel. The shaft has a conically tapered area with an external thread at a free end. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Rotor for use in a charging device i.e. exhaust gas turbocharger (all claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The adapter is provided between the turbine wheel and the shaft for attaching the turbine wheel and the shaft and connected to the turbine wheel and/or the shaft by the infiltration process, thus joining the turbine wheel and the shaft with different physical properties e.g. thermal expansion coefficients, in a simple manner while preventing sudden change of material structure properties of the turbine wheel and the shaft, and hence increasing heat resistance in regions of sealing rings.
