The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for painting the surface of leather and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for painting leather using a roll paper painting base material, which can rapidly perform high quality painting through a continuous process by using a method for contacting paint with leather by a sheet-type base material as a mediator. The leather painting apparatus of the present invention comprises a release layer former forming a release layer on a base sheet for separation; a paint coater coating paint on the release layer of the base sheet to form a paint layer; an adhesive coater coating an adhesive on the paint layer of the base sheet to form an adhesive layer; and a sheet fabric laminator making the paint layer contact with the painting target surface of the leather by the adhesive layer as a mediator by pressing the base sheet and the leather while being overlapped. |
