<p>An apparatus for detecting a short circuit in an inverter for a vehicle comprises: a power semiconductor of the inverter for the vehicle; a gate driver applying a current to a gate of the power semiconductor; and an over-current detection unit connected to an emitter of the power semiconductor, and if the over-current detection unit detects an over-current using a current flowing at the output stage of the power semiconductor, blocking an output of the power semiconductor by changing a gate input signal of the semiconductor. According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent a fire in the inverter by detecting the over-current using shunt resistance and forcing a gate output to be blocked immediately when the over-current caused by the short circuit of the power semiconductor occurs.</p> |
