<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head rest that can surely and efficiently transmit an external force, which is applied to a head rest body, to a head rest pillar. <P>SOLUTION: The head rest includes the head rest pillar 1, a lock bracket 4, the head rest body 5, and a lock mechanism. The lock mechanism includes: a plurality of locking holes 20, ... that are juxtaposed long the rotational direction of the head rest body 5; a pin through-hole 21 that is formed in a position to pass over the plurality of locking holes 20, ...; and a lock member 22 that includes a lock pin part 22a, a shaft part 22b and a connection part 22c. An axial center of a horizontal shaft part 1b, which is set as a rotational central axis of the head rest body 5, is arranged on an extension line of a straight line that connects an axial center of the shaft part 22b and an axial center of the lock pin part 22a together.
