The present invention relates to an electrolyte and a lithium secondary battery including same. The electrolyte contains a triazine-based compound of chemical formula 1 as an electrolytic additive for improvement in room-temperature charge and discharge characteristics and discharge capacity retention rate; can be applied to a high-voltage battery; and can suppress battery life characteristics deterioration and swelling.
