<p>The present invention relates to a bi-directional watchdog apparatus and a control method thereof. The watchdog apparatus monitors an error in an MCU to be monitored. The watchdog apparatus transmits a first query data to the MCU, receives a first response data on the first query data from the MCU, reads the first response data to detect an error and, when an error is detected from the first response data, resets the MCU or a system including the MCU and, when a second query data is received from the MUC to be monitored, transmits, to the MCU, a second response data for reading an error in the watchdog apparatus itself, and is reset in response to an error detection result of the MCU based on the second response data. Therefore, the reliability and stability of the system may be improved.</p> |
