PURPOSE: An electron gun of a color cathode ray tube is provided to enhance resolution over the entire area of a screen area by optimizing shape of a center electron beam on the screen. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun of a color cathode ray tube comprises a focus aperture electrode, an anode aperture electrode, a focus inner electrode(23) and an anode inner electrode. The focus aperture electrode is formed as a race track having two semicircular boundaries. The anode aperture electrode is formed as a dog bone. The focus inner electrode(23) includes three circular holes as outer electron beam passage holes. The anode inner electrode includes three circular holes as three electron beam passage holes. A center electron beam passage hole(25) is formed by parts of a straight line and a circle to balance focusing forces in all directions relative to a center of a center electron beam.
