<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head rest that enables a head rest body to be simply and surely attached to a head rest pillar. <P>SOLUTION: The head rest includes: the head rest pillar 1; a lock bracket 4; the head rest body 5; and a lock mechanism. The head rest body 5 includes a holding part 9 which is provided at the lower end of the head rest body 5 and opened downward, which makes a horizontal shaft part 1b and the lock bracket 4 inserted into an opened part 9a, and which holds the horizontal shaft part 1b. An encircling part 8 is disposed above the holding part 9, and an insertion opening 8d for inserting the lock bracket 4, which protrudes above the holding part 9, into the encircling part 8 is formed at the lower end of the encircling part 8.
