<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable having excellent manufacturability and profitability, as well as excellent branching workability, and to provide an optical fiber cable branching method. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber core 7 is arranged in a substantially center position in a cross section of an optical fiber cable 1. A coating part 3 is formed on the circumference of the optical fiber core 7. Inside the coating part 3 (both sides of the optical fiber core 7), a pair of tension members 9 are embedded. The tension members 9 bear tension of the optical fiber cable 1. A steel wire may be used as a tension member 9. The optical fiber core 7 is arranged substantially at the center in an installation direction of the tension members 9, and formed substantially at the center in a height direction in the cross section of the optical fiber cable 1, in a substantially aligned manner. Further, regarding an arrangement height of the optical fiber core 7 as h and an outer diameter of the tension member 9 as D, the outer diameter D of the tension member 9 is larger than the arrangement height h of the optical fiber core 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
