A method and apparatus for attaching a nozzle (302) to a fluid dispensing system and a tip (312,314,316) to the nozzle (302). In one illustrative example, the fluid dispensing system may be moved by a robotic device towards a nozzle retaining structure (206) having nozzle retaining areas (221) holding nozzles (302). A nozzle (302) may be selected for use based on a nozzle identifier element corresponding to each of the nozzles (302). The robotic device may move the fluid dispensing system to the nozzle (302) selected to attach the fluid dispensing system to the nozzle (302) selected. Further, the fluid dispensing system may be moved by a robotic device towards a tip retaining structure (204) having tip retaining areas (228) holding tips (312,314,316). A tip (312,314,316) may be selected for use based on a tip identifier element corresponding to each of the tips (312,314,316). The robotic device may move the fluid dispensing system to the tip (312,314,316) selected to attach the nozzle (302) to the tip (312,314,316) selected. |
