An embodiment of the invention provides a method of receiving digital broadcast comprising the steps of: demultiplexing a transport stream into a video stream and an auxiliary stream including an event information table (EIT) and a program map table (PMT), wherein the video stream includes video data and user data, a caption descriptor includes caption information representing whether caption data included in the video stream is the data supporting a digital closed caption service according to an electronic industry association (EIA)-708 or the data supporting an analog closed caption service according to an electronic industry association (EIA)-708, the caption descriptor includes aspect ratio information representing whether the caption data is the caption data for a screen ratio of 16:9, and the caption descriptor includes an identification number of a caption service provided by the caption data only when the caption data is the data providing the digital closed caption service according to EIA-708; decoding the video data; and decoding the video data. An objective of the present invention is to prevent an erroneous operation of a cable broadcast receiver according to conventional advanced television system committee (ATSC) specifications. |
