PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to smoothly convey toner without agglomerating the toner inside a developing apparatus only when the toner is initially supplied by an initial supply toner container, thereby reducing the time required before initial preparation.SOLUTION: A developer container 60 of a developing apparatus 34 includes a first storage chamber 60B and a second storage chamber 60C extending in a longitudinal direction. A toner residence mechanism 80 is arranged above the first storage chamber 60B. The toner residence mechanism 80 includes an insertion/removal member 83 which is pulled out from a second position to a first position in the first storage chamber 60B when an initial supply toner cartridge 39A is connected. The insertion/removal member 83 regulates the amount of toner conveyed in the second position, while not regulating the amount of toner conveyed in the first position. |
