The present invention relates to a system and a method for transforming synthesis gas that can control, without restriction, the composition of gas generated in the transforming reaction of water gas while increasing thermal efficiency. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the system for transforming synthesis gas comprises: a catalytic reactor for changing the composition ratio of CO and H_2 of synthesis gas by making the synthesis gas including CO and H_2 react with steam generated by a steam generator; a steam control valve for controlling the flow of steam coming into the catalytic reactor; a heat exchanger for making generated gas generated by reaction in the catalytic reactor exchange heat with the synthesis gas; a heater for heating the synthesis gas discharged after exchanging heat with the generated gas in the heat exchanger; a cooler for cooling the generated gas discharged after exchanging heat with the synthesis gas in the heat exchanger; a separator for liquefying and separating steam contained in the generated gas cooled in the cooler; a control valve for adjusting the flow of the synthesis gas coming into the heat exchanger; and a control part for controlling the calorific value of the heater, the openness of the control valve and the openness of the steam control valve. |
