PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inserting an insulator into a stator core which can suppress the efficiency drop of insertion work of the insulator into a slot even if the stator core being the target of insertion of the insulator is of multi-item and small-quantity production. SOLUTION: Unpressed insulating paper 4, which fits the slot shape different in every kind of a stator core 1 and is before pressing, is made for every kind. The unpressed insulating paper 4 is reserved in a paper reservoir 19 separately for each kind of the unpressed insulating paper 4. A paper reservoir 19, where the unpressed insulator fits the slot form of the stator core 1 intended for insertion of the insulating paper 5 is reserved, is selected from among a plurality of paper reservoirs 19 where unpressed paper 4 is reserved in advance. The unpressed insulator 4 is taken out of the selected paper reservoir 19, and the unpressed insulating paper 4 is trimmed into insulating paper 5 by a press means 30, and the insulating paper is inserted into the slot 2 of the stator core 1 intended for insertion by the insulating paper insertion means 40.
