PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron golf club head with high repulsion performance.SOLUTION: A head 1 includes a head body 10, and a face plate 12 fixed to the head body 10. The face plate 12 is partitioned by an outer peripheral surface 17 comprising an upper edge 17a, a lower edge 17b, a toe edge 17c, and a heel edge 17d. The face plate 12 includes an annular outer edge part 12a fixed to the head body 10, and a noncontact part 12b that comes into noncontact with the head body. The noncontact part 12b includes a first thin wall part 21 and a second thin wall part 22 that have the thickness smaller than that of the outer edge part 12a. The first thin wall part 21 extends the outer peripheral side along the upper edge 17a, the toe edge 17c, and the lower edge 17a. The second thin wall part 22 is formed to have the thickness smaller than that of the first thin wall part 21. The area of the first thin wall part 21 is 10-35% of the area of the noncontact part 12b, while the area of the second thin wall part 22 is 65-90% of the area of the noncontact part 12b. |
