<p>4',3':4,5 thieno 2,3-d pyrimidines substd. in the 4-position by an amino lower alkylamino group are new compounds, and are prepared by replacement of a halogeno, mercapto or ester group in the 4-position by an amino lower alkylamino group, using known methods. Useful as antimalarials, esp. for prophylactic use, also as amoebicides, anti-inflammatories and hypotensives. Starting material is prepared from the corresponding 4-OH compounds by known methods, such as PCl5, PCl3, P2S5, etc. Typically 4-chloro-7-methyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropyrido 4',3':4,5 thieno 2,3-d pyrimidine is treated with an excess of beta-diethylamino ethylamine to replace the chlorine atom.</p> |
