<p>The invention relates to an antitheft device for the steering column of an automobile, said device including: a bolt (7) mounted so as to be translatably mobile in said device, between a position for locking the steering column and a position for releasing said column, and a latch (5) including a control means for moving said bolt, said latch being mobile between a neutral position and an operative position. Said device further comprises a means (9) for translatably locking said bolt (7), said means being controlled, by said control means, so as to assume either an operative position, in which the locking means (9) translatably locks the bolt (7) so as to maintain said bolt (7) in the locked position when the latch (5) is in the neutral position, or an inoperative position, in which the locking means (9) releases said bolt (7) when the latch is in the operative position.</p> |
