<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of precisely controlling the timing for radiating a plurality of light beams from each of a plurality of light emitting elements based on image data even when the temperature in an optical scanner changes during image forming in the optical scanner equipped with the plurality of light emitting elements.SOLUTION: The optical scanner (optical scanning section) controls light sources so that laser beams successively enter a BD sensor from each of light emitting elements LD1 and LDN during an image non-forming period, and measures a time interval between two BD signals successively output from the BD sensor. When image formation is performed after the image non-forming period, the optical scanning section controls the light sources so that the laser beam from the light emitting element LD1 enters the BD sensor. Furthermore, the optical scanning section controls a radiation timing of the laser beam from each of light emitting elements based on image data by using a single BD signal output from the BD sensor as a reference according to a measured value of the time interval between the BD signals.</p> |
