PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device and a drive method for a brushless motor used for an oil pump, capable of making a transition from forced commutation to feedback control without stepping-out even in a case where a motor can be driven only at such a rotation number that no induction voltage used for the feedback control is generated, in a very low temperature environment.SOLUTION: A drive device for a brushless motor used for an electrically-driven oil pump, comprises: a reception part receiving from the exterior a rotation number command including a rotation number of the brushless motor; a determination part determining whether or not the rotation number is a rotation number threshold or more, the rotation number threshold being such a rotation number that an induction voltage having a level required for detecting a rotation magnetic pole position of the brushless motor is generated; and an energization controller, in a case where the rotation number is less than the rotation number threshold, performing forced commutation control by a commutation rotation number that the brushless motor can be rotated at a predetermined temperature, and in a case where the rotation number is the rotation number threshold or more, performing feedback control by the induction voltage. |
