PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detection device in which influences on an operation feeling due to looseness are reduced.SOLUTION: A rotation detection device 101 comprises: a rotation member 3 having a cylindrical part 3s; a holder member H1 inserted into the cylindrical part 3s of the rotation member 3; and rotation detection means 5 for detecting rotation of the rotation member 3. The holder member H1 has a pedestal part 31 having a first plane H1p almost parallel to a rotation shaft 3j of rotation operation, and a base part 11 having a second plane H1v almost orthogonal to the first plane H1p. The rotation detection means 5 is arranged along the second plane H1v. The rotation member 3 has an extension part 13 extending toward a center of the cylindrical part 3s, and protrusion parts (51, 61) projecting along the rotation shaft 3j from the extension part 13. When the rotation member 3 ia arranged on the holder member H1, the rotation member 3 is arranged so as to cover the rotation detection means 5. The protrusion parts (51, 61) are coupled with the rotation detection means 5, so as to transmit the rotation of the rotation member 3 to the rotation detection means 5. |
