<p>Disclosed is a method of generating a collection of master data records and an inverted index from a plurality of distinct data record collections, some of the records in the data collections being interrelated by associated information. The method comprises selecting a data record from the data set and designing it the primary record, determining all other data records from the data set reachable from the primary record based on the association information, and designing the other data records as secondary records. Next a tree-based data structure is generated with data from the primary and secondary records being stored in the nodes, and the whole tree is stored as the master data record. Then the nodes are indexed to produce the inverted index information, and which is added to the inverted index. The generated collection of master data records has all the data from the data set and with the inverted index allows pivoted faceted browsing of the data set in real time.</p> |
