<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which enables a paper to be safely and easily removed and can lessen shocks to a head surface when the paper is removed on the occurrence of jamming. <P>SOLUTION: In the recording apparatus equipped with a gap adjusting mechanism which automatically adjusts a gap depending on kinds of media, it is determined whether or not the gap is opened by oscillating a carriage right and left when jamming occurs. When the gap is to be opened, the gap is opened after it is made sure that a cover which covers the whole surface of the apparatus is closed and that a pinch roller is in a state of holding the medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
