<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of a vector processing device by efficiently using a vector register file even when a vector length is short. <P>SOLUTION: The vector processing device includes a vector register file to which a plurality of data registers stored with vector data respectively are allocated; a plurality of register sets including the maximum number of data registers which are allocated in the vector register file and specified with operands included in instructions, and varying in size with a vector length; a control register which stores information indicating an effective register set among the register sets as a register set holding vector data used for vector operation; and an execution part which executes the vector operation using a data register specified with an operand based upon a start position of the effective register set changing with the vector length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
