<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition that gives physical properties after vulcanization excellent in breaking elongation while keeping a high hardness and modulus, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition.SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber (A), 1 to 150 parts by mass of carbon black and/or inorganic filler (B), and 0.1 to 30 parts by mass of a thioester compound (C) having at least one thioester group expressed by formula (1) below. In the formula, Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, alkoxy group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, aryl group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms, aryloxy group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms, hydroxy group, halogen atom, or hydrogen atom; Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and * represents a coupling position.</p> |
