PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay unit and a load control system capable of elongating life.SOLUTION: A relay unit 2a comprises: a first terminal 21; a second terminal 22; a relay 23 having a relay contact connected between the first terminal 21 and the second terminal 22; a first drive circuit 24 for driving the relay 23; a semiconductor switch element 25 connected in parallel to the relay contact; and a second drive circuit 26 for driving the semiconductor switch element 25. In addition, the relay unit 2a comprises a controller 27 for controlling the first drive circuit 24 and the second drive circuit 26. In addition, the relay unit 2a is provide with a current detection circuit 28 for detecting a current flowing in the semiconductor switch element 25. Further, the relay unit 2a is provided with prohibition means 29 for prohibiting drive of the relay 23 by the first drive circuit 24 when no current flows in the semiconductor switch element 25 on the basis of an output of the current detection circuit 28. |
