CLOSED CONTACT HEATER ASSEMBLY FOR YARN HEAT TREATMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact heater assembly of a closed heater type which facilitates yarn heat treatment providing quality equivalent to that in the case of a contact heater of an open heater type.SOLUTION: A contact heater assembly includes a heater tube. The heater tube includes a liner tube including adjacent small radius lead-in and lead-out yarn guiding surfaces. The small radius yarn guiding surfaces desensitize the setting of yarn control means allowing sufficient and consistent contact of a yarn on a closed contact heater assembly. The yarn guiding surfaces can be elastically mounted, so that the accurate fitting of the guiding surfaces to the liner tube is ensured. Thereby, multiple tolerance errors in the liner tube are automatically compensated. The small radius guiding surfaces form adjacent inlet and outlet sections each having a radius substantially smaller than the longitudinal radius of the contact surface of the heater tube.
