PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that improves performance of image formation.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes an ASIC 18 that rotates an image. A document data acquisition unit 100 acquires document data 300. A difference in direction determination unit 110 analyzes the acquired document data 300 to determine whether or not the direction of a sheet to be output is different from the direction of the document data 300. A post-processing determination unit 120 determines whether or not the document data 300 is specified with post-processing when the sheet has been determined to be different in direction. A rotation control unit 130 causes the ASIC 18 to rotate the image of the document data 300 when the post-processing determination unit 120 has determined that the document data 300 is not specified with post-processing, and rotates the image of the document data 300 through software processing in other cases. An image forming unit 17 forms an image of the document data 300 rotated by the rotation control unit 130 with the ASIC 18 or through the software processing. |
