The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for preventing a collision in a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag identification process and, more particularly, to an apparatus for preventing a collision of tag information (ID) transmitted in an RFID tag identification process in consideration of mobility of an RFID tag in an RFID system environment where periodic monitoring is required, and a method thereof. The method comprises the steps of: determining a transmission slot to transmit tag identification information; checking whether there is a pre-allocated slot in determining the transmission slot; checking a stored counter value to check an allocated slot; and determining a transmission slot according to the stored counter value and transmitting identification information therethrough. |
