<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a capping device that suppresses ink from flowing into a cap from a communicating port communicating with outer air. <P>SOLUTION: The capping device 31 contacts with a liquid ejecting head for ejecting ink and forms a closed space including first and second spaces 41, 42. The capping device includes: a waste liquid port 36a to which a suction pump 26 for decompressing the closed space and that discharges the ink outside the closed space; an intake port 37a communicating with the outer air inside and outside the closed space; and a check valve 70 that is provided on a surface forming the closed space, suppresses the movement of the ink from the closed space via the intake port to the outer air, and permits the movement of the air from the outer air via the suction port to the closed space after the closed space is decompressed by the suction pump. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
