PHOTOSENSITIZING DYE, METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR ELECTRODE CONTAINING THE SAME, AND DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel green photosensitizing dye having good photoelectric conversion efficiency, a metal oxide semiconductor electrode obtained by adsorbing it on an oxide semiconductor, and a dye-sensitized solar cell using the oxide semiconductor electrode.SOLUTION: The dye-sensitized solar cell includes a transparent electrode 1, a metal oxide semiconductor electrode 2, an electrolyte 3, and a counter electrode 4. The photosensitizing dye being a phthalocyanine complex or a salt thereof is adsorbed on a surface of the metal oxide semiconductor electrode 2. The metal oxide semiconductor electrode 2 is preferably a porous electrode. The central element of the photosensitizing dye is an n-valent metal ion or silicon.
