A selection device (100) acquires state information (111-A to 111-G) which indicates runtime states for each of a plurality of runtime states of a CPU (101) whereupon it is possible to change the runtime states of each element (L1, L2). The selection device (100) measures a power consumption value and a processing performance value of the CPU (101) after the change to the runtime state which the state information indicates for each acquired instance of the state information by having the CPU (101) after the change execute a specific program. On the basis of the measured processing performance value, the selection device (100) selects any instance of state information where the measured power consumption value is less than or equal to a prescribed power consumption value, from among instances of state information acquired for each of a plurality of different prescribed power consumption values. |
