The present invention pertains to a method for manufacturing a protein, the method being provided with an inspection process including: a step for approximating, to one or more normal distributions, a protein-derived infrared absorption band that appears, in a protein infrared absorption spectrum, in the vicinity of 1500-1600 cm-1 or 1600-1700 cm-1; a step for calculating an index value indicating the degree of spread of the infrared absorption band on the basis of the normal distribution; and a step for comparing the index value with a threshold value set in advance and selecting, as a non-defective product, a protein for which the degree of spread of the infrared absorption band is less than the threshold value. |
