<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately and easily perform quantitative analysis of a sulfur concentration in pig iron. <P>SOLUTION: First of all, a pig iron sample 6 and a combustion improver 7 are charged into a porcelain crucible 21. Then, pure oxygen gas is continuously supplied to the inside of a heating furnace 2 and an AC current is applied to a coil 22 to burn the pig iron sample 6 in pure oxygen gas atmosphere. After removing dust and moisture in analytical gas containing sulfur dioxide generated by the burning of the pig iron sample 6 respectively by a dust filter 3 and a dehydrator 4, a fluorescence intensity value is measured by supplying the analytical gas to an ultraviolet fluorescent type SO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>analyzer 5. Finally, a not-shown computer calculates a sulfur concentration in the pig iron sample 6 from the fluorescence intensity value measured by a previously prepared calibration curve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
