The present invention pertains to a conversion device, an imaging device, an electronic device, and a conversion method that enable reduction in circuit scale. The present invention comprises: a comparison unit that compares an input voltage of an input signal and a ramp voltage of a temporally fluctuating ramp signal; and a storage unit that holds a code value from the time at which the comparison result from the comparison unit has inverted. A digital signal having a prescribed number of bits is generated by the storage unit repeatedly holding the code value. A digital signal of the prescribed number of bits is generated by: separating the prescribed number of bits into the most significant and least significant bits; obtaining the least significant bits before the most significant bits; and combining the obtained least significant bits and the most significant bits. The present invention can be applied to image sensor AD conversion.
