<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and space-saving belt cleaning device which removes a foreign substance without reducing triboelectric effect with respect to residual toner.SOLUTION: A belt cleaning device includes: an endless belt having a carrying surface for carrying an image and circulating in a predetermined direction; a cleaning unit which is arranged opposite to the carrying surface to remove residual toner; and a toner friction unit which is arranged opposite to the carrying surface upstream of the cleaning unit to frictionally charge the residual toner. The toner friction unit has brush bristles which are charged when frictioning the residual toner. The brush bristles includes a first bristle-like body to be charged positively and a second bristle-like body to be charged negatively. The first and second bristle-like bodies are arranged alternately in a predetermined first direction.</p> |
