<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a packet multiplex transmission device and method which, while preventing packets from being discarded, can reduce a delay in signal transmission. <P>SOLUTION: In a packet multiplex transmission device and method, determination is made to see if congestion has occurred, and when congestion is determined to have not occurred, the oldest of first packets stored in buffer memory which temporarily retains first packets before multiplexing is capsulated before being output. On the other hand, when congestion is determined to have occurred, a number of the first packets to be combined is calculated, and a number of the first packets equal to the calculated packet count are combined and capsulated in order from the oldest of the first packets stored in the buffer memory before being output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
