Disclosed are an active cell balancing method of a battery and a system using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the active cell balancing method of a battery comprises the steps of: determining whether a battery is in a discharge state by measuring a current; calculating an accumulative current amount by accumulating the current when the battery is in the discharge state; estimating a maximum capacity of each cell of the battery on the basis of updating the accumulative current amount when the discharge of the battery is terminated; estimating a SOC value of the each cell of the battery based on the maximum capacity of the each cell of the battery and the accumulative current amount; selecting an optimized reference SOC base on the maximum capacity of the each cell of the battery and the SOC value of the each cell of the battery; and performing a cell balancing based on the reference SOC. |
