<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The device (10) has a sealed enclosure (101) enclosing an entire exterior surface of a rupture element e.g. shear disk. A surface of the enclosure includes a sealing portion provided to be secured around a tubular base (14) of a compartment. The enclosure includes a shear disk or a metal membrane adapted to break under a gas pressure lower than a rupture pressure of the rupture element. The enclosure is made of two half-shells, which are assembled by bolting. A clamp allows applying of a sealed closing portion against the tubular base. The shear disk is made of aluminum. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for sealing a device for containment of gas leaks. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Device for containment of gas leaks occurring at a rupture element e.g. shear disk and rupture membrane, of a compartment of a gas-insulated, armor-plated type electric station i.e. gas insulation switchgear, and a gas-insulated, high-voltage circuit breaker (all claimed), in a gas field. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The enclosure includes the shear disk or the metal membrane adapted to break under the gas pressure lower than the rupture pressure of the rupture element, thus quickly preventing increase of the pressure within the compartment, and providing protection for the disk, the membrane, connections, interfaces and/or elements near the disk and the membrane against bad weather, UV and corrosion. The device allows simple containment of the gas leaks, and avoids the need to dismount mounting flanges of the disk and the membrane, and for assembly supports of the compartment.
