PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for producing light oil and a method for producing the light oil, in which a biodiesel whose quality is stable in a long term can be produced at an enhanced yield.SOLUTION: A system for producing light oil comprises: a filter 2 which filters raw oil; a preheater 3 which preheats the raw oil; a reactor 4 which has a solid catalyst contacting the raw oil to convert the raw oil into decomposition oil composed of hydrocarbon; a high temperature fractionator 5 which condenses a heavy fraction from the decomposition oil and supplies hydrocarbon oil in a gas phase; a low temperature fractionator 7 which condenses a light fraction from the decomposition oil and supplies gas components or the like; a cooling tower 8 which cools the light fraction; and a stabilization part 6 in which a reduction catalyst converting an unsaturated bond in an unsaturated compound included in the decomposition oil or the hydrocarbon oil into a saturated bond is arranged. In the stabilization part 6, the decomposition oil or the hydrocarbon oil is stabilized under a pressure condition substantially equal to internal pressure in the high temperature fractionator 5 and the low temperature fractionator 7, and is supplied to the high temperature fractionator 5 or the low temperature fractionator 7.
