PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear for use in timepieces, an escape mechanism, a movement for use in timepieces and a mechanical timepiece that can serve to restrain damages to components and prevent their size expansion and deterioration in the accuracy of timing.SOLUTION: A gear for use in timepieces comprises a hub part 20 fitted from outside and fixed to a stem part; a plurality of teeth parts 23 arranged at equal intervals around the hub part 20; and a spoke part 21 that is disposed between the hub part 20 and the teeth parts 23 and links these hub part 20 and teeth parts 23. The spoke part 21 has a pair of second spoke parts 21b extending from the base ends of the teeth parts 23 in a forked shape inward in the radial direction, and one end of each of these paired second spoke parts 21b is connected to one end of another second spoke part 21b of another teeth part 23 adjacent in the circumferential direction to form a connecting part 21d.
