PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous film composition for lithium ion secondary batteries which enables the suppression of gas generation and the manufacturing of a lithium ion secondary battery superior in cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A porous film composition for lithium ion secondary batteries comprises non-conductive particles, a polymer and an imino group-containing compound. The polymer includes 0.1-50 wt.% of an acid group-containing monomer units. The content of the imino group-containing compound is 0.01-100 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the polymer.
